Power and Procrastination

Gordon Bennett! I powered my PC down a week and a half ago so that I could paint the room that it’s in and now the stupid thing won’t power up. At first I thought it was the PSU (having tried one or two of the other sockets in the room); when I swapped that out yesterday it still wouldn’t boot up. So I figured it might be the motherboard and decided to bring the whole kit and kaboodle into the office so I could swap it out for a spare one if things were quiet.

They weren’t, as it turned out, but before I left the office I plugged the PC in and it started to boot. ‘Odd’, I thought, and put it down to being just one of those things. I stuck the PC back into the car, drove home and plugged it in again. Bastarding thing wouldn’t power up. I’ve tried next to nothing and I’m all out of ideas.

Here’s a picture of Eoin that’s been cheering me up since I took it on Sunday:

Eoin

Ah, bless. He’s a cutie, eh?

Floody is doing a photo a day every day for a year. I was thinking of doing something similar but I’m a realist: I know for a fact that I won’t have the dedication to actually take a picture every day, regardless of how much I want to. So I’m thinking of doing a photo a week instead. In fact I’m thinking really hard about it.
